ANXIETY
Anxiety is a “normal reaction to stress,” but at what point does anxiety become a disorder? The initial onset of anxiety can have a positive effect in situations, helping one to address situations with urgency. Anxiety can help one to focus and be more present when a challenging task arises. When the anxiety becomes excessive, however, it can get in the way of personal relationships and one’s overall sense of peace and wellbeing. Excessive anxiety can be identified by intense worry, exaggerated fear, extreme social phobia or any other situations that can get the heart pounding, interrupt regular breathing, provoke sweating, or cause mild paranoia.
At the point in which anxiety becomes a disorder, extreme and repetitive behaviors are present. This can include panic attacks, obsessive compulsiveness, and even post-traumatic stress. All of these disorders are common, and the good news is that they can all be treated by healthcare professionals.

Many relaxation techniques can be applied such mediation, breathing exercises, yoga and journaling. Treatments can also include medication and counseling. All cases of anxiety have equal importance, and it is crucial that each individual receives the attention and treatment they need.
